An Affordable Pink and Gold Valentine's Day Tablescape

An Affordable Pink and Gold Valentine's Day Tablescape

Pretty does not have to be pricey!  Most of the pieces used to create this tablescape were from Target and Michaels. Tip: A great flower arrangement elevates any tablescape. Flower arrangements can be expensive, but they are worth it. That said, beautiful and affordable flower arrangements are out there. Case in point, the center arrangement in this post by Darling & Daughters. If you're in the DC area, Darling & Daughters creates beautiful bouquets for $25 (you can pick them up at Buttercream Bakeshop or Varnish Lane)! Place white roses in bud vases to complement the center arrangement.

I opted for blush, pink, and gold pieces that could be used again for other occasions such as Easter or a baby shower.  I tried to use only a few overtly Valentine's Day pieces, such as the heart confetti from Sugarfina and the ceramic heart tray from Michaels. Don't spend on items that you can only use for occasion!

One of my favorites from this tablescape is the blush pink tumbler from Anthropologie. For only $12, this glass is beautifully made and of high quality. The shape is elegant and I love how pale the pink is. I'll definitely re-use this glass for Easter! Same goes for the blush dinner napkins.  These cloth dinner napkins are from Amazon and are great for parties. The quality is nice and they don't crease or wrinkle easily. You can wash and re-use them or toss them without any guilt because they are so inexpensive ($12.99 for a 10 pack).

The gold flatware is pretty, modern, and great quality for only $19.99 for a 5 piece set. The flatware is very solid and has weight to it, plus it is shiny and dishwasher safe. The charger plates are from Michael's and are $1.39/plate! Full disclosure, they are plastic and do scuff easily BUT they are largely concealed by dinner plates and photograph well. Tip: use a gold paint pen to blend any scuffs.

The naked cake is from Buttercream Bakeshop, and it is as delicious as it is pretty. A naked cake provides a nice blank canvas for decoration (without the hassle of actually having to bake and frost a perfect cake). I dressed it up a little bit with some left over greenery. The cake pictured here is 6". You can order online!
