Set the Table for Memorial Day Weekend : Shopping List
If you're hosting for Memorial Day Weekend, opt for simple but classic settings. I like to buy items that are more classic than overtly festive so that I can use them for multiple occasions. This keeps costs down and makes your life easier. This strategy also allows you to spend a little more on quality staples - like linens.
For a patriotic table, I prefer to stick to either blues or reds. I just don't love a heavy blue and red color combo. Sue me. Sometimes I'll add in little pops of the color I didn't choose (Red garden roses with a blue and white tablescape, for example).
Crisp white paired with blue floral is my favorite linen combo. It's the perfect combination for patriotic holidays and general summer dinner parties. The napkins above are from Wakefield South Designs (Insta: @wakefieldsouthdesigns), available at Etsy. I chose the Campbell style and requested Navy for the center initial and light blue for the outer initials. I found this tablecloth by my fave tunic/cover up designer, Roberta Roller Rabbit, at Tuckernuck. I bought these Baci Milano acrylic glasses on my honeymoon in Capri. They're available online at multiple stores!
